IELTS Requirement for Australia Universities: Minimum Score

6.5 overall (commonly with no band below 6.0) is the most-repeated undergraduate floor across the fifteen universities checked for content/inbox/universities-au.json (12 of 15 that publish a figure). Adelaide University, Edith Cowan University and Southern Cross University publish 6.0 instead as their general floor. Note this academic entry minimum is separate from, and generally higher than, the Student visa's own minimum, which studyaustralia.gov.au describes as 6.0 for the visa itself (raised from 5.5) for applications lodged on or after 23 March 2024. Individual courses at every university, especially law, medicine, education and nursing, commonly require more than the general floor.
