This site has no accounts and collects no personal data from readers. There is no sign in, no newsletter and no tracking pixel of our own.
Server logs
The web server keeps standard access logs, which record the IP address, the page requested, the browser and the time, for 30 days, for security and to see which pages are used. Your light or dark theme choice is stored in your own browser and is never sent to us.
Advertising
This site shows advertising through Google AdSense, one unit per page. Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
You can turn off personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Where the law requires it, including in the United Kingdom, Switzerland and the European Economic Area, you are asked for consent before advertising cookies are used, and you can change that choice at any time.

Email sent to the editors is kept as long as it is needed to act on it, and is not used for anything else.
