Each of the roughly 300 participating universities runs its own competition and sets its own application window, usually during the summer semester for a start in the following winter semester. Check the chosen university's own scholarship office page for exact dates. -

Participating UK universities bid for shared places each year (bids for 2027/28 courses closed 15 September 2026); the list of funded courses is published after the bids are assessed, with student applications opening soon after and normally closing in mid-December for study starting the following September or October. -

The University Composition Fee in full, a maintenance allowance of GBP 22,050 for 12 months at the 2025-26 rate (pro-rated for courses shorter than a year, and paid for up to 4 years for PhD scholars), one economy return airfare at the start and end of the course, the Immigration Health Surcharge and inbound visa costs, plus discretionary funding such as a dependent children allowance and academic development funding
For entry in 2027, applicants who are US citizens resident in the USA must apply by 14 October 2026; all other eligible applicants apply by 8 December 2026 or 6 January 2027 depending on the course. There is no separate Gates Cambridge form beyond the standard Cambridge graduate application. -

University and college fees in full, plus an annual living grant set at least at the UK Research and Innovation minimum doctoral stipend rate, reviewed and typically increased each year
There is no separate Clarendon application or deadline. Every applicant for a full-time or part-time Oxford graduate course who submits a complete course application by that course's own funding deadline, mostly in December or January, is automatically considered. -

Each country or regional constituency runs its own selection with its own deadline, mostly falling between July and October each year for entry the following October. Applicants apply through the constituency that matches their citizenship or residence, not a single worldwide deadline.
