EPOS Development-Related Postgraduate Courses 2026: Deadline, Eligibility, Benefits

EPOS funds postgraduate study in Germany for graduates from developing and newly industrialising countries who want to work on development-related problems. The programme covers about 200 selected master's courses and a small number of doctoral places at German public and state-recognised universities, spanning fields such as economics, engineering, public policy, natural resource management and public health. Applicants need a first university degree, normally at least two years of relevant professional experience, and a clear link between the chosen course and development work in their home region or country. Funding pays a monthly stipend of EUR 992 for students on a master's track and EUR 1,300 a month for doctoral candidates (EUR 1,400 from February 2026), plus contributions to health, accident and personal liability insurance and, where needed, a travel allowance. There is no single EPOS deadline: each partner course sets its own dates and requires the application to go directly to that course, not to DAAD headquarters.
