Aptitude

  • The Enhanced ACT has three required sections, English, Mathematics and Reading, plus optional Science and Writing, taken on paper or on computer at a test centre. It takes 2 hours 5 minutes for the required sections and reports a Composite score from 1 to 36, and ACT does not publish a fixed expiry date on a score.

  • GMAT Focus Edition is a 2 hour 15 minute business school admission test with three equally weighted sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Data Insights. It can be taken at a test centre or online, reports a total score from 205 to 805, and stays valid for five years.
  • The GRE General Test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and analytical writing for graduate, business and law school admission. It takes about 1 hour 58 minutes, can be taken at a test centre or at home, and reports Verbal and Quantitative scores from 130 to 170 plus a separate Analytical Writing score from 0 to 6.

  • The SAT is a digital admission test with two sections, Reading and Writing and Math, taken on a computer through the Bluebook app at a school or test centre. It takes about 2 hours 14 minutes and reports a total score from 400 to 1600, and College Board does not set a fixed expiry date on the result.

English

  • The Duolingo English Test is an online, on demand English test taken at home with a webcam, with no appointment needed. It takes under an hour, is computer adaptive, and reports one overall score from 10 to 160 with subscores, usually certified within 48 hours.
  • IELTS Academic is an English test for university admission that checks listening, reading, writing and speaking. It can be taken on paper or on computer at a test centre, or remotely through IELTS Online, and reports a band score from 0 to 9 for each skill and overall.
  • PTE Academic is a single computer based English test taken only at an authorised test centre, covering speaking, writing, reading and listening in about two hours. It reports one score from 10 to 90 on the Global Scale of English, and most results are ready within two days.
  • TOEFL iBT is a computer based English test for university admission covering reading, listening, speaking and writing. It can be taken at a test centre or at home, and since January 2026 it reports scores on a 1 to 6 scale lined up with CEFR levels, alongside a comparable 0 to 120 estimate during a two year transition.
