What it is
Admission to MBBS courses in Bangladesh, at government and private medical colleges alike, runs through a single national written test organised by the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME) under the Ministry of Health. The test is a multiple choice paper covering the HSC science syllabus, and the merit list is built from the test score together with SSC and HSC results, with deductions for repeat attempts as set out in the circular.
Who can apply
Eligibility is defined by the year of SSC and HSC passes and minimum GPAs in the science group, including a minimum grade in biology. The circular for each session states the exact thresholds and is the only reliable source.
How the cycle runs
DGME publishes the circular, opens online applications through its Teletalk portal, sets a test date, publishes results and then runs the college allotment and admission stages. Foreign applicants have a separate quota and process described in the same circular.
