Who can apply
Applicants must be citizens of Bangladesh who passed HSC, A Level or equivalent in 2024 or 2025; anyone who passed SSC, O Level or equivalent before 2022 is not eligible. Both SSC and HSC must be in the science group, and HSC must include Biology, Physics and Chemistry. The combined SSC and HSC GPA must be at least 8.50, with at least 4.00 in each examination. For tribal candidates and non-tribal candidates of the hill districts the limits are 8.00 combined and 3.50 in each. Every applicant needs a GPA of at least 3.50 in HSC Biology. O and A Level candidates first obtain an equivalence certificate from the Directorate General of Medical Education.
The test
MBBS and BDS share one national test, set on a single question paper for all government and private medical and dental colleges. It is a 100-question multiple-choice paper on the HSC syllabus: Biology 30, Chemistry 25, Physics 15, English 15, and general knowledge, aptitude and humane qualities 15. It lasts 1 hour 15 minutes, each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks, and the pass mark is 40. Nobody who fails it can be admitted to an MBBS or BDS course in the country.
The merit score adds the test marks to a GPA score of up to 100: SSC GPA multiplied by 8 (up to 40) and HSC GPA multiplied by 12 (up to 60). Three marks are deducted for candidates who passed HSC in the previous year (2024), and five for those already admitted to a government medical or dental college in 2024-2025.
Dates and fee for 2025-2026
The circular was issued on 10 November 2025. Applications ran online from 11 to 21 November 2025, the fee of BDT 1,000 was paid through a Teletalk prepaid mobile by 22 November, and the test was held on 12 December 2025 from 10:00 to 11:15 am. The result was published on 14 December 2025. One percent of seats are reserved for backward population groups.
