How the test works
For the 2025-2026 session, 19 public universities admit first-year students through one combined GST test. A candidate sits the unit that matches their HSC group, then applies to individual member universities with that result; each university sets its own department conditions and merit list. A candidate who passed in one unit can also be considered for departments of another unit where the university's own conditions allow it.
Each unit is a one-hour, 100-mark multiple-choice paper. A wrong answer costs 0.25 marks, and the pass mark is 30.

Architecture applicants also sit a drawing test on 10 April 2026, after the Unit A paper.
Who can apply
Applicants must have passed SSC or equivalent in 2021, 2022 or 2023 and HSC or equivalent in 2024 or 2025.
- Unit A: science group, GPA at least 3.25 in each of SSC and HSC (with the fourth subject) and at least 7.00 combined.
- Unit B: humanities group, GPA at least 3.00 in each and at least 6.00 combined.
- Unit C: business studies group, GPA at least 3.00 in each and at least 6.25 combined.
GCE candidates need passes in five O Level subjects with at least three at grade B, and in three A Level subjects with at least two at grade B.
Fee and application window
The application fee is BDT 1,500, with BDT 500 more for the architecture drawing test. Applications for the 2025-2026 session were open online from 10 December to 24 December 2025.

Department-wise seats are set by each university.
