Clarendon Scholarship 2026: Deadline, Eligibility, Benefits

The Clarendon Fund is the University of Oxford's own scholarship scheme, open to graduate applicants of any nationality, including UK citizens, applying to start a new full-time or part-time master's or DPhil (PhD) course at Oxford in any subject. Postgraduate certificate and diploma courses are not eligible. Scholars are chosen on academic merit and potential, judged from the graduate course application itself. There is no separate Clarendon form, essay or portal, and no extra deadline: every complete graduate course application submitted by that course's own funding deadline, normally in December or January, is automatically considered for a Clarendon award alongside the course's other funding competitions. The scholarship covers university and college fees in full for the normal length of the course, plus an annual living grant set at least at the UK Research and Innovation minimum doctoral stipend rate, which is reviewed and typically increased each year. Because timing follows each course's own Oxford admission deadline rather than one fixed Clarendon date, applicants should check their specific course page on the Oxford graduate admissions website for the exact date that applies to them.
