Applicants from International Student Award eligible countries are assessed against academic merit and program availability with offers issued on a rolling weekly basis, while other applicants are considered in a series of scheduled offer rounds through the cycle; UNSW publishes an international entry requirements table each year giving the equivalent standard, commonly described as around an international ATAR of 75, though the real bar is course-specific and higher for competitive programs. Applicants must also meet the university's English language requirement, generally IELTS 6.5 overall with no subtest below 6.0, or an accepted equivalent, before an offer becomes unconditional. A non-refundable application fee applies to the online application, and an accepted offer must usually be confirmed within 21 days. Tuition is calculated per course (subject) at a rate set by faculty rather than as a single course-wide annual figure: for 2026, published rates range from about AUD 940 to AUD 1,270 per unit of credit, and a standard full-time year of 48 units of credit therefore costs roughly AUD 45,120 to AUD 60,960 before the compulsory Student Services and Amenities Fee, which is capped at AUD 365 for 2025. International undergraduate applications for direct entry do not follow one single published closing date across the whole university; instead UNSW runs a structured sequence of offer rounds and directs applicants to the International Student Admissions site for the current cycle.
