Requirements

Bachelor

  • Academic qualification equivalent to the entry standard for the chosen degree; the university-wide reference point for the International Admissions Diversity Pathway is an international ATAR equivalent of 75, but individual degrees set their own, often higher, standard
  • English language proficiency at IELTS Academic 6.5 overall, no subtest below 6.0, or an accepted equivalent (TOEFL iBT 90, PTE Academic 64)
  • Verification that the applicant is not an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident (the international pathway)

Documents

Academic results or predicted grades appropriate to the applicant's qualification (for example IB, A-levels or a recognised national Year 12 certificate), evidence of English language proficiency where required, and proof of secondary school completion.

How to apply

  1. Confirm international student status and browse degrees, or use the degree match tool.
  2. Check the academic and English language entry requirements for the chosen degree.
  3. Submit the application through the UNSW Applicant Portal, directly or through a local agent, and pay the application fee.
  4. Track the application online.
  5. Receive an offer (issued weekly for ISA-eligible countries, or in a scheduled offer round for others).
  6. Accept the offer and pay the required deposit within the stated period, generally 21 days.
  7. Enrol online and arrange Overseas Student Health Cover before the student visa application.

English test waiver

Education, Social Work, Business and several health science programs set higher English requirements than the university-wide minimum; the course-specific requirement on the degree page overrides the general figure.
