Admission at a glance
Flinders University admits international undergraduate applicants who have completed a recognised secondary education qualification, either in Australia or overseas, and who meet the university's English language proficiency requirement in addition to any course-specific prerequisites. Applicants who fall short of the standard English score can study English for Academic Purposes through Flinders University Academy, or attend an approved ELICOS provider, specifically ILSC, TAFE SA's English Language Centre, or the South Australian College of English, to gain direct entry without a further IELTS or TOEFL test; this pathway does not apply to the Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing (Graduate Entry) or Bachelor of Midwifery, which keep their own higher English requirement. Flinders does not publish one fixed closing date that applies to every course; its own how-to-apply page instead warns that courses with a limited number of places may close to applications without notice once they are full, so applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible ahead of their intended intake. Tuition is set as an annual commencing fee published in the university's International Commencing Tuition Fee Schedule; the 2027 schedule, updated August 2026, lists most undergraduate bachelor's degrees from AUD 37,200 a year for arts, humanities, creative and social science programs up to AUD 49,600 a year for engineering, with several health and science degrees falling between these figures. The combined Bachelor of Clinical Sciences/Doctor of Medicine pathway is higher again at AUD 54,900 for its commencing year, and the standalone postgraduate-entry Doctor of Medicine sits well outside this undergraduate range at AUD 95,700. Successful applicants receive an offer, accept it, arrange Overseas Student Health Cover, and apply for a student visa.
