Admission at a glance
Adelaide University began operating on 1 January 2026 as a single institution combining the former University of Adelaide and University of South Australia, and by the time of this research its main site at adelaide.edu.au was live with dedicated sections for international admissions, entry requirements, an education agent locator and an English Language Centre. The university's general English language entry requirement for most bachelor's degrees is IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, rising to 7.0 overall for a group of professional programs including Dentistry, Medicine, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy; accepted tests include IELTS and Cambridge English Advanced, taken within the last two years. A non-refundable AUD 150 application fee applies to every application. For most undergraduate programs, Adelaide University states there is no fixed application closing date for prospective international students: the advice is to apply at least three months before the intended start date, with processing taking four to six weeks plus time for a student visa. Four programs are the exception and carry set or earlier deadlines because of extra entry requirements: the Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Bachelor of Medical Studies, Bachelor of Oral Health and Bachelor of Science (Veterinary Bioscience). The university's 2027 International Student Guide lists an indicative annual tuition fee for every undergraduate program: most bachelor's degrees run from about AUD 43,400 to AUD 61,700 a year, and the guide's full undergraduate range, including the Bachelor of Medical Studies and Bachelor of Dental Surgery, runs from AUD 43,400 to AUD 108,300 a year.
