Adelaide University Admission Requirements 2027

Adelaide University is a new public university formed on 1 January 2026 by the merger of the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia, operating from adelaide.edu.au. Most international undergraduate programs admit on a rolling basis with no fixed closing date.

Requirements

Bachelor

Academic qualification appropriate to the chosen degree (assessed on the degree's own entry page)
English language proficiency at IELTS Academic 6.5 overall, no band below 6.0, or an accepted equivalent such as Cambridge English Advanced; 7.0 overall, no band below 7.0, for Dentistry, Medicine, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and some other professional programs
Earlier or additional requirements apply to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Bachelor of Medical Studies, Bachelor of Oral Health and Bachelor of Science (Veterinary Bioscience)

Academic transcripts and certificates, evidence of English language proficiency where required, and a copy of the passport identity page.

How to apply

Check the entry requirements for the chosen degree.
Prepare academic transcripts and English test evidence.
Apply online and pay the AUD 150 application fee.
Allow four to six weeks for processing (most programs have no fixed closing date but should be applied for at least three months before the intended start).
Receive and accept the offer.
Arrange Overseas Student Health Cover and apply for the student visa, allowing additional processing time.

English test waiver

Most bachelor's degrees require IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0; Q-flagged professional programs such as Dentistry, Medicine, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy require 7.0 overall with no band below 7.0. The university's preferred tests are IELTS Academic and Cambridge English Advanced (CAE), and a test taken within the last two years is accepted.
