Requirements

Bachelor

• Successful completion of a recognised secondary education qualification, in Australia or overseas
• Course-specific prerequisite subjects where the course requires them
• English language proficiency at IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with 6.0 in Speaking and Writing, or an accepted equivalent (IELTS 7.0 overall, with higher component scores, for the Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing (Graduate Entry) and Bachelor of Midwifery)

Documents

Academic transcripts and certificates for secondary (and any completed tertiary) study, evidence of English language proficiency or an accepted alternative pathway, and a certified copy of the passport identity page.

How to apply

1. Choose a course and check its entry requirements and English language requirement.
2. Prepare academic transcripts and English test results, or arrange an approved English pathway if needed.
3. Apply directly to Flinders online or through an education agent.
4. Receive and accept an offer; places on some courses can close without notice once filled, so early application is advised.
5. Arrange Overseas Student Health Cover and apply for a student visa.

English test waiver

The general undergraduate standard is IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with 6.0 in Speaking and Writing (TOEFL iBT 72 with 18 in Speaking and Writing; PTE Academic 50 with 50 in Writing and Speaking). Nursing and midwifery programs require IELTS 7.0 overall with 7.0 Speaking, 6.5 Writing, 7.0 Reading and 7.0 Listening, with corresponding higher scores on other tests. Applicants who fall short can study English for Academic Purposes at Flinders University Academy, or attend an approved ELICOS provider (ILSC, TAFE SA's English Language Centre, or the South Australian College of English) to gain direct entry without a further test; this pathway does not apply to the Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing (Graduate Entry) or Bachelor of Midwifery.
