Admission at a glance

UTS requires international undergraduate applicants to hold an academic qualification equivalent to the standard set for the course, alongside English language proficiency demonstrated through an approved test such as IELTS or TOEFL, unless a previous qualification was taught entirely in English. Standard undergraduate coursework programs require IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with writing at 6.0, or the equivalent TOEFL iBT 79 or PTE Academic 58, though teaching and nursing or midwifery programs require up to IELTS 7.0. A non-refundable AUD 100 application fee is payable with every application submitted as an international student. Because UTS charges tuition per subject rather than per course, the university does not publish one indicative annual figure on its general fees page and instead offers a fee-lookup tool; faculty-level published examples put a Science degree at around AUD 35,260 to 42,950 a year, Arts at around AUD 42,950, Business at around AUD 41,560 to 46,620, and Engineering at around AUD 48,560, giving a broad undergraduate range of roughly AUD 35,000 to 49,000 a year before the Student Services and Amenities Fee. UTS publishes clear international application closing dates that differ for applicants based outside and inside Australia: for the Autumn session (Semester 1) 2027, applicants outside Australia must apply by 30 November 2026 and applicants inside Australia by 15 January 2027; for the Spring session (Semester 2) 2027, the equivalent dates are 30 April and 31 May 2027. Some courses set their own, different deadlines.
