Admission at a glance

RMIT sets minimum university-wide entry standards for international undergraduate applicants covering age (at least 16 when the program begins) and English language proficiency, with individual courses able to set a higher bar on top of this floor. The standard English requirement is IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, or the accepted equivalent of TOEFL iBT 79 or PTE Academic 58; RMIT does not accept IELTS General, at-home or online test versions, and a test must be no more than two years old at the intended start date. A non-refundable AUD 100 application fee applies to applicants from a specified list of about 47 countries, mainly across Africa plus parts of India and Pakistan, and is credited toward tuition once an offer is accepted; the fee does not apply to a Higher Degree by Research application. RMIT publishes an official cost-of-studying page stating that bachelor's degree tuition for international students runs from about AUD 36,000 to AUD 50,000 a year, with specific published examples including Electrical Engineering at AUD 47,040, Creative Writing at AUD 41,280, Law at AUD 45,120 and Education at AUD 36,480. RMIT's Semester 1, 2027 international undergraduate application cycle opens in August 2026; a specific round with an application deadline of 3 March 2027, an outcome date of 5 March 2027 and an offer-acceptance deadline of 5 March 2027 is published, though this may be one round within a larger cycle rather than the university's single final date. Semester 2, 2027 dates were not yet published at verification.
