IELTS Requirement for Finland Universities: Minimum Score

There is no national minimum; each university sets its own and the spread is real. The University of Turku asks 6.0 overall with every sub test at 5.5 or above for bachelor's admission, and Tampere University asks 6.0 overall with 5.5 in writing. The University of Helsinki asks 6.5 overall with 6.0 in writing, and Aalto asks the same for master's admission. Only IELTS Academic is accepted; General Training is not. Aalto's Bachelor's Programme in Science and Technology asks for no language test at all, because admission there is ranked on the SAT or ACT.
