Admission at a glance
The University of Lapland admits international students to English-taught bachelor's and master's programmes through Finland's joint application. For the autumn 2027 intake, the application period runs from 7 January to 21 January 2027, closing at 15:00 (UTC+2), and all enclosures must be uploaded by 28 January 2027 at 15:00. Admitted students accept their place by 13 July 2027. Applicants liable to pay an application fee pay it when submitting the form, with no waivers, and the application is not processed otherwise. Master's applicants need IELTS Academic 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each section, TOEFL iBT 92 or PTE Academic 68; the university makes no exceptions, although prior education can also prove language skills. Tuition for the autumn 2027 intake is EUR 13,000 per academic year for master's programmes and EUR 10,000 for three-year bachelor's programmes. A Master's Degree Scholarship of EUR 6,000 per year is awarded to one fifth of the intake based on success in the application process, and first-year students who accept their place and pay 90% of the fee on time receive an Early Bird scholarship of 10%, which is EUR 1,300 for master's students. Bachelor's students have no first-year scholarship but can receive EUR 3,000 in each of the second and third years.
