University of Jyväskylä Admission 2027 for International Students

The University of Jyväskylä in central Finland charges non-EU/EEA students tuition of EUR 10,000 to EUR 16,000 a year for its English-taught bachelor's and master's programmes. Non-EU/EEA applicants pay a EUR 100 application fee, and bachelor's applicants need IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 78 or PTE Academic 54. Admission rounds run in January through Studyinfo, and details of the 2027 round are due by the end of September 2026.

Admission at a glance

The University of Jyväskylä admits students to English-taught bachelor's and master's programmes once a year through Finland's Studyinfo portal. In the 2026 round the application period ran from 7 January to 21 January 2026, attachments were due by 28 January 2026, and studies began at the end of August 2026; the university says information on the 2027 admission round will be published by the end of September. Non-EU/EEA citizens pay an application fee of EUR 100, with exemptions for some residence permit holders. Bachelor's applicants prove English with IELTS Academic 6.0, TOEFL iBT 78 or PTE Academic 54 among other accepted methods, and the university grants no waivers. Citizens of countries outside the EU, EEA and Switzerland pay tuition: EUR 10,000 a year for the bachelor's in Business Innovation and Sustainability and EUR 16,000 for Immersive Software Engineering and AI, while master's programmes cost EUR 10,000 to EUR 14,000 a year, for example EUR 12,000 for Banking and International Finance and Artificial Intelligence and EUR 14,000 for Physics and Nanoscience. There is no university-level scholarship for the first year, but students who accepted their place within 14 days in the 2026 round received an early bird discount of EUR 1,500. From the second year, fee-paying students can apply for the JYU Scholarship, which covers part of the fee.
