Typical minimum: 6.5 overall (Academic), matching CEFR B2, for English-taught bachelor's and standard master's programmes, verified 7 September 2026.
Some master's programmes ask for C1 instead, which the University of Vienna maps to an overall band of 8 with at least 7.5 per component. Universities of applied sciences and individual programmes can set their own minimum; always check the specific programme page.
