Admission at a glance
University of Klagenfurt runs a general admission period for bachelor's programmes of 6 July to 5 September for winter semester entry and 8 January to 5 February for summer semester entry, both extendable to 31 October or 31 March in exceptional cases; master's and other programmes have a longer general admission period running to 31 October or 31 March. For winter semester 2026/27, the master's admission period (6 July to 31 October 2026) is open at the time of this research; the bachelor's general period (6 July to 5 September 2026) has already closed, though the exceptional-cases extension to 31 October 2026 may still apply. For summer semester 2027, both bachelor's and master's periods open 8 January 2027. Klagenfurt teaches an unusually broad set of programmes in English, including bachelor's degrees in Digital Media Culture and Communication, Information and Communications Engineering, International Business and Economics, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, Social Sciences and Worlds of English, plus a long list of English-taught master's programmes; some, including International Business and Economics, run their own special admission procedure with an entrance examination, while others, including Worlds of English, do not. Applicants without an Austrian school leaving certificate or a general higher education entrance qualification from Germany follow a separate admission route, with its own legalisation and translation requirements. Non-EU/third-country students pay tuition of EUR 726.72 a semester plus the ÖH union fee of EUR 26.20; EU/EEA students pay EUR 363.36 plus the ÖH fee after their fee-free period (standard duration plus two semesters) expires. This research could not confirm a specific English test minimum, an application fee, or the country-of-origin qualification rule on the official pages reached; several admission sub-pages returned an access error during this pass.
