University of Tartu Admission 2027: Deadlines, Fees, Requirements

The University of Tartu takes applications once a year for autumn entry, through its own online system, and for 2026 it offered 28 English-taught programmes, three at bachelor's level and 25 at master's level. In the 2026 cycle master's applications ran from 2 January to 15 March 2026 with results by 30 April, and bachelor's programmes and Medicine ran to 15 April with results on 1 June. The autumn 2027 dates had not been published when this page was checked; the one intake already open for 2027 is a spring start for the master's in Entrepreneurship in Economic Policymaking, applied for from 1 to 15 September 2026 for studies beginning on 8 February 2027. Every international applicant pays a non-refundable application fee of EUR 100, which covers up to two programmes. The most important change for 2026-27 is financial: Tartu no longer offers tuition waivers to newly admitted students from outside the EU and EEA, and all English-taught bachelor's programmes are fee-paying for everyone. Some programmes instead give automatic 25%, 50% or 100% fee reductions for one semester at a time. Admitted non-EU students must pre-pay half of the first semester's fee after the admission decision. English is required at IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 75, and Duolingo is not accepted.
