University of Tartu Tuition Fees 2027 for International Students

The University of Tartu, founded in 1632, is Estonia's oldest and largest university, with around 15,000 students, some 1,600 of them international, and 28 English-taught programmes in 2026. Non-EU students pay EUR 4,200 to EUR 13,200 a year, Medicine being the most expensive, and from 2026-27 there are no tuition waivers for newly admitted students from outside the EU and EEA. The application fee is EUR 100.

Tartu sets fees per programme for 2026-27, and its official fee directive sets them per semester, so each yearly figure is twice a semester fee. At bachelor's level Business Administration costs EUR 4,200 a year, Science and Technology EUR 6,000 and Medicine, an integrated bachelor's and master's programme, EUR 13,200. Most master's programmes for non-EU students cost either EUR 4,800 a year, including Semiotics, International Law and Human Rights, International Relations and Regional Studies and Educational Technology, or EUR 7,200, including Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics and Computer Engineering and Actuarial and Financial Engineering. Clinical Nutrition costs EUR 6,800 and Excellence in Analytical Chemistry EUR 9,000. Some programmes charge EU and EEA citizens a lower fee, and 14 masters are free for them. From 2026-27 there are no tuition waivers for newly admitted students from outside the EU and EEA. Non-EU students pre-pay half the first semester's fee after admission. The application fee is EUR 100 for up to two programmes.
