Admission at a glance
KTH Royal Institute of Technology admits bachelor's and master's students through universityadmissions.se, the national portal used by every Swedish university. Applicants who are not citizens of the EU, EEA or Switzerland apply in the international round for autumn entry, which opens 16 October 2026 and closes 15 January 2027, with the SEK 900 application fee due by the document submission deadline of 1 February 2027 and results published 1 April 2027 for master's programmes. KTH's own page states the application fee directly and explains that the fee must be paid by the deadline since assessment of the application depends on it.
KTH's own tuition and application fees page states that the full tuition fee for most two-year programmes with both years spent at KTH is SEK 385,000, while noting that the amount varies between programmes; some one-year master's programmes and joint programmes with partner universities charge different totals confirmed on the individual programme page. Tuition is charged in advance each semester and paid by bank transfer.
KTH teaches nearly all of its master's programmes in English across engineering, computer science, architecture and technology management, plus a small number of English taught bachelor's programmes. Admission is based on documented academic merit against programme specific requirements. Non-EU/EEA students who accept an offer pay their first tuition installment before enrollment, then apply for a residence permit for studies through Migrationsverket.
