Admission at a glance

Genoa runs its non-EU international admissions through the UniGeApply portal, where applicants can request evaluation for up to two courses of study. For the 2026/27 cycle, pre-evaluation for visa applicants opened in late November 2025 and closed in March 2026, followed by the Universitaly visa request window in May and June 2026, pre-enrolment closing in October 2026 for bachelor's and single-cycle programmes and in November 2026 for master's programmes, and a final document upload deadline in late February 2027; visa-holding applicants had to arrive in Italy by 25 January 2027 to complete enrolment. Master's applicants need a bachelor's degree of at least three years, to be completed by a set date if still in progress, and English-taught master's programmes ask for B2-level English shown by a certificate or a statement that the previous degree was taught in English. Tuition is calculated through the ISEE-U, the university-benefit version of Italy's household income indicator, which international students can obtain free of charge from a CAF tax assistance centre after arriving in Italy. Every student pays a fixed first instalment of EUR 136, made up of EUR 16 stamp duty and a minimum EUR 120 regional tax, and the university contribution on top of that runs up to a published maximum of about EUR 3,300, giving a combined maximum of roughly EUR 3,436 a year.
