The University of Genoa is a public university in Liguria offering degree programmes across science, engineering, medicine and the humanities. Requirements

Bachelor

A secondary school qualification giving access to university study, submitted with a pre-evaluation request through UniGeApply. Programmes taught in Italian ask for B2 Italian.

Master

A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification lasting at least three years, in a field relevant to the chosen programme, completed or due to be completed by the date set in that year's call. English-taught programmes ask for B2-level English.

Documents

Passport, secondary school diploma or bachelor's degree certificate (final or provisional, with expected completion date and CGPA if still studying), transcript of records with credits and grades, syllabus or programme descriptions of exams taken, an English or Italian language certificate where required, and the Universitaly pre-enrolment summary once validated.

How to apply

  1. Register on UniGeApply and request pre-evaluation for up to two courses of study.
  2. Wait for the outcome, then complete the Universitaly visa request in the window UniGe publishes for that year.
  3. Apply for the study visa at the competent Italian consulate.
  4. Complete pre-enrolment and upload final documents by UniGe's published deadlines.
  5. Travel to Italy by the university's arrival cut-off, enrol, and register for the residence permit within eight days of arrival.

English test waiver

Master's programmes taught in English ask for B2-level English, shown by an IELTS or TOEFL certificate or a statement that a previous degree was taught in English; the university does not publish one fixed minimum score for general admission.
