Admission at a glance

Sapienza runs its international admissions through the MoveIN online pre-selection platform. Non-EU applicants who need a student visa submit a pre-selection application for up to two programmes, paying a non-refundable fee of EUR 30 for each one; no fee waiver is available under any circumstance. The university evaluates academic qualifications and, where required, English or Italian language certificates, then issues a pre-acceptance letter that lets the applicant register on the Universitaly portal and apply for a study visa. Bachelor's applicants need a secondary school diploma from at least twelve years of schooling; master's applicants need a three-year bachelor's degree in a discipline relevant to the chosen programme. All applicants need at least an upper-intermediate B2 level of English or Italian depending on the language of the programme, evidenced by a certificate or, for some programmes, an online interview. Restricted-access programmes such as Medicine add an entrance test. Tuition is set mainly by household income and country of residence rather than a full ISEE calculation for most non-EU applicants living abroad, and ranges from EUR 300 to EUR 1,500 a year. The International Student Office publishes detailed academic requirement lists for each degree course and supports applicants throughout the process.

Requirements

Bachelor

A secondary school diploma obtained after at least twelve years of education, recognised as giving access to university study in the country where it was issued. Programmes taught in Italian ask for B2 Italian; programmes taught in English ask for B2 English.

Master

A three-year or longer bachelor's degree in a discipline relevant to the chosen master's programme, plus any specific credit requirements set by the department. Some programmes require an admission interview or a curriculum evaluation.
