University of Catania Admission 2027 for International Students

Admission at a glance

The University of Catania (UniCT) publishes a tuition fee for non-EU students living abroad of EUR 306 a year on its official FAQ for international applicants. Applying costs a non-refundable EUR 10, which covers one programme only and cannot be waived or postponed. For the 2026/2027 cycle, the call for the ten master's degree programmes taught entirely in English opened on 10 February 2026 and closed on 17 March 2026 for non-EU applicants living abroad, with the university committing to publish admission results by 6 May 2026. Applicants who accept a place must pay a separate, non-refundable enrolment confirmation fee of EUR 75 within 15 days of the results being published, through the PagoPA payment system, to secure their seat. Non-EU applicants needing a study visa pre-enrol through the Ministry's Universitaly portal once admitted, following guidelines issued jointly each year by the Ministry of University and Research, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of the Interior. The university also runs a scholarship scheme tied to its English-taught master's degrees: five two-year scholarships worth EUR 2,000 a year are available for each of the ten programmes. English proficiency is required for the English-taught programmes, evidenced by IELTS, PTE or TOEFL, Duolingo is not accepted, but the specific minimum score is set in the annex of each year's Call for Admission rather than published as one figure for the whole university.

Requirements

Bachelor

A secondary school qualification recognised as giving access to university study in Italy.

Master

A bachelor's degree or equivalent first-cycle qualification relevant to the chosen programme. The ten master's programmes taught in English require an English proficiency certificate, IELTS, PTE or TOEFL, Duolingo is not accepted, with the minimum score set in the annual Call for Admission.
