University of Pisa Admission 2027: Deadlines, Requirements, Fees for International Students

Admission at a glance

Pisa requires every non-EU applicant who needs a study visa to complete pre-enrolment on the Universitaly portal before applying for the visa; the university validates the pre-enrolment and, once validated, only visas issued by a set date each year are accepted for enrolment. For the 2026/27 academic year, the university set a total quota of 4,500 places across all degree programmes for non-EU visa applicants, a limit that is renewed and republished each year rather than fixed permanently. Bachelor's applicants need a secondary school qualification comparable to an Italian diploma; master's applicants need a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. English is required at B2 level for programmes taught in English, and the university accepts a personal declaration of language level in place of a certificate for some programmes rather than setting one fixed test score. Tuition is calculated under the ISEE system with a published maximum all-inclusive contribution of EUR 2,900 a year for students who complete their programme within its standard duration; non-EU students with income and assets abroad are assigned a flat-rate coefficient based on their country of origin, with reductions available for country of origin and academic merit.

Requirements

Bachelor

A secondary school qualification recognised as giving access to university study, comparable to twelve years of Italian schooling. English-taught programmes ask for B2-level English; Italian-taught programmes ask for B2-level Italian.

Master

A bachelor's degree, or equivalent first-level qualification, in a field relevant to the chosen programme. English-taught programmes ask for B2-level English.
