Admission at a glance
The University of Perugia (UniPG) admits non-EU applicants living abroad through a pre-evaluation application submitted on the national PICA portal, alongside a passport copy, educational credentials, language documentation and a CV. PICA validation returns one of several outcomes: admitted, conditional, referred to a committee, or rejected. Applicants without Italian language certification for Italian-taught programmes may need to sit an online Italian language test; for the 2026/27 cycle this was scheduled for 25 August 2026. Once positively evaluated, applicants complete pre-enrolment on the Ministry's Universitaly portal and then apply for a study visa at the Italian diplomatic mission in their country of residence. Final enrolment and payment only take place after arrival in Italy. For the 2026/27 cycle, most general programmes opened for application on 29 May 2026 and closed on 7 June 2026, while some programmes ran on separate timetables: Civil Engineering and Geology stayed open until 30 September 2026, limited-access health and education programmes closed 6 August 2026, and the Engineering Management master's degree closed 21 August 2026. Tuition normally falls between EUR 150 and EUR 2,200 a year, set by the student's family income and academic merit under Italy's ISEE system, and does not cover textbooks, housing or living costs. Programmes taught in English, including Engineering Management, require a mandatory B2-level English certificate from a list of accepted certifications; the pages read for this record did not state a general test score for other programmes.
