Admission at a glance

Pavia opens several application windows across the year for applicants with a non-Italian qualification, run through its own online application system. For the 2026/27 cycle, non-restricted programmes had windows opening in November 2025, January 2026, March 2026 and June 2026, the last two reserved for non-EU applicants residing abroad only if places remained, plus a final window in September 2026 for EU and non-EU applicants already resident in Italy; restricted-access programmes publish their own separate timelines from around December. Applicants pay an application fee of EUR 35. Bachelor's applicants need a secondary school diploma from at least twelve years of education; master's applicants need a three-year bachelor's degree. Programmes taught in English ask for a B2-level certificate, with IELTS 5.5 to 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 87 to 109 treated as equivalent, though English-language credits from a previous degree or a university language centre certificate can also satisfy the requirement. Non-EU applicants who need a study visa must also complete Universitaly pre-enrolment; for the 2026/27 cycle, visa documents had to be submitted by 1 December 2026 or the academic career was frozen. Tuition for non-EU students is a flat rate set by citizenship and field of study in three brackets, from EUR 390 to EUR 4,550 a year, with an initial deposit of EUR 156 due from every enrolling student.
