The University of Turin (UniTo) admits non-EU applicants living abroad through its own Apply@UniTo portal. Applicants register, choose a programme, and upload their qualification, transcripts, passport and language certificates; the university then issues an eligibility outcome. Applicants who need a study visa must also complete pre-enrolment on the Ministry's Universitaly portal, uploading the same documents so the Italian embassy or consulate handling their case can process the visa; for the 2026/27 cycle UniTo set 15 July 2026 as the Universitaly pre-enrolment deadline for visa applicants. From 2026/27, UniTo changed how it calculates fees for non-EU applicants living abroad: rather than requesting an ISEE Parificato, an equivalent household-income certificate obtained through a CAF tax assistance centre, it assigns a flat annual band of EUR 300, 500, 700 or 1,000 according to the GDP per capita at purchasing power parity published by the IMF for the applicant's country of citizenship, on top of a fixed EUR 156 first instalment covering the regional tax and stamp duty. The ISEE Parificato route through EDISU Piemonte, the regional right-to-study agency, remains available for other benefits such as housing subsidies, but no longer changes the tuition band itself. Applicants to English-taught programmes need a B2-level certificate; IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 80 are the typical minimums, though individual programmes can set their own score.

Requirements

Bachelor

A secondary school qualification giving access to university study in the country where it was issued, recognised as equivalent by the university.

Master

A bachelor's degree or equivalent first-cycle qualification relevant to the chosen programme. English-taught programmes require a B2-level English certificate, typically IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 80, though the exact minimum is set by each programme.
