Admission at a glance

NTU runs its own admission on a calendar that opens almost a year before the start. For 2027 entry, international applications for a February start ran from 3 August to 17 September 2026; for a September start the first round runs from 29 September to 5 November 2026 and the second from 1 December 2026 to 19 January 2027. International sophomore entry, a separate route, runs from 2 March to 26 March 2027. Overseas Chinese, Hong Kong and Macau applicants use a different route entirely, from 3 August to 17 September 2026, and mainland Chinese applicants another; the categories are not interchangeable and they carry different fee treatment, with MOFA Taiwan Scholarship holders and applicants with R.O.C. permanent residency charged at the local rate. The language certificate is the part to start earliest, because the requirement follows the programme's language rather than the applicant's nationality, and departments can set higher bars than the university's. Where an applicant is otherwise strong but short on language, NTU offers conditional admission with up to one year to produce the certificate, except on the sophomore entry route. Applications are made per department or graduate institute, so an applicant aiming at several pays and prepares for each.
