Admission at a glance

PolyU's International/Other Qualifications route serves applicants with A-Levels, IB, or an equivalent national school-leaving certificate. English proficiency is met with IELTS Academic at an overall band of 6.0 in one sitting, or TOEFL iBT at 80 in one sitting, both valid for two years from the test date; online or home-edition variants are not accepted. Tuition for non-local students in government-funded Bachelor's degree programmes is HK$200,000 a year for the 2026/27 academic year, paid in two equal instalments of HK$100,000 before each semester. On accepting an offer, all new non-local undergraduates must also pay a separate non-refundable HK$20,000 fee to secure their place, which is later credited against the first semester's tuition. For the September 2026 intake, the application deadline for International/Other Qualifications applicants was 15 May 2026; PolyU had not published the equivalent deadline for September 2027 entry as of September 2026. The application fee, non-refundable and non-transferable, is commonly quoted at HK$450, though PolyU's own page for this specific pathway did not state the figure directly and it should be re-checked before this record is treated as fully confirmed. A Hong Kong student visa is applied for separately once an offer is accepted.
