Admission at a glance

HKBU admits applicants with international qualifications (A-Levels, IB, and equivalent school-leaving certificates) through an Early Round and a Main Round, with admission offers for the September 2027 intake released from late December 2026 onwards; HKBU's admissions page did not state the exact closing dates for either round when checked, so both are recorded as not yet confirmed here. English proficiency is met with an IELTS Academic overall band of 6.0, a TOEFL iBT score of 79, an SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score of 590 or above, or an ACT English and Reading score of 23 or above; from 2027 entry, English test results must fall within two years of the start of the academic year. Non-local undergraduate tuition is HK$190,000 a year for the 2026/27 academic year, and newly enrolled non-local undergraduates pay a separate non-refundable HK$10,000 admission confirmation fee on accepting an offer. HKBU's application fee for international undergraduate applicants is commonly quoted at HK$450, though this record could not confirm it against HKBU's own fees page, which timed out when fetched directly, so it is left null pending a reviewer check. A Hong Kong student visa is applied for separately through the Immigration Department once an offer is accepted.
