Requirements
Bachelor
An approved secondary qualification (A-Levels, IB, or an equivalent national school-leaving certificate) meeting the prerequisites of the intended programme, plus the English test scores above unless exempted.
Master
A recognised bachelor's degree meeting the entry criteria of the specific graduate programme; requirements are published separately by each HKBU faculty or school.
Documents
Academic transcripts and certificates, English test score report unless exempted, a valid travel document, and any programme-specific supporting documents.
How to apply
- Confirm your qualification is covered by HKBU's International Qualifications pathway.
- Submit the online application in the Early Round or Main Round.
- Submit final results and any outstanding documents.
- Receive the admission decision; offers for September 2027 entry are released from late December 2026 onwards.
- Accept the offer and pay the HK$10,000 non-refundable admission confirmation fee.
- Apply for a Hong Kong student visa through the Immigration Department once accepted.
English test waiver
HKBU also accepts SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing at 590 or above, or ACT English and Reading at 23 or above, in place of IELTS or TOEFL. From 2027 entry, both TOEFL and IELTS results must be taken within two years prior to the start of the academic year.
