Admission at a glance
CUHK's Overseas, Mainland and Transfer Applicants Holding International Qualifications pathway is the route used by most Bangladeshi applicants with A-Levels, IB or equivalent school-leaving results. For September 2027 entry, the early-bird application round closed 1 November 2026, and applicants who had not yet sat a required English test were given until 21 May 2027 to submit a qualifying result. The application fee is HK$450 for undergraduate applications. English proficiency is met with IELTS Academic at an overall band of 6.5 or TOEFL iBT at 80; where the programme requires it, applicants may instead qualify through an English-medium prior qualification. Tuition for non-local undergraduates is a single university-wide figure, HK$214,000 a year for the 2026/27 academic year, rather than varying by faculty as it does at HKU and NTU; any adjustment to this figure for a given intake year is capped at a 3 percent increase. CUHK is organised into residential colleges, and applicants are typically assigned to one as part of admission. A Hong Kong student visa is applied for separately once an offer is accepted, and financial documentation is required as part of that process rather than the university admission itself.
