Admission at a glance

Aalto runs its own admission to its English taught bachelor's programmes, and states plainly that this admission, the first joint application and the second joint application are three separate processes. Its window for entry in autumn 2027 is 7 to 22 January 2027, alongside but not identical to the national joint application on Studyinfo, which runs 7 to 21 January 2027 and closes at 15.00 Finnish time. An applicant may name at most three Aalto study options on one form and can be admitted to only one. Admission uses three groups. Groups I and II are ranked on standardised tests: the SAT, counting the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and Mathematics sections, or the ACT, counting Reading, English, Mathematics and Science. Group III is certificate based, and in the Bachelor's Programme in Science and Technology 70 per cent of its places are reserved for applicants seeking their first higher education degree. Aalto publishes a full admission schedule for each round covering the deadline for test results to arrive directly from the test organiser, the separate publication dates for test based and certificate based decisions, the rectification request deadlines, the date by which a place has to be accepted, and the end of waiting list admission. Every application document has to be in Finnish, Swedish or English, with an official translation where the original is not.
