Aalto charges tuition only to students who are not citizens of an EU or EEA member state or Switzerland, and only on degree programmes taught in English. Holders of certain Finnish residence permits, students on Finnish or Swedish taught programmes and doctoral students pay nothing. For study rights beginning on or after 1 August 2025 the bachelor's fee is 12,000 euros per academic year in the field of business and in the field of technology, and 15,000 in the fields of art and architecture. At master's level it is 15,000 in business, 17,000 in technology and in the multidisciplinary programmes Creative Sustainability, International Design Business Management and Urban Studies and Planning, and 20,000 in art and architecture. International joint degree programmes set their own fees. Scholarships are tuition fee waivers granted to the strongest applicants and run for three years of a bachelor's degree or two of a master's; a separate incentive scholarship of 1,500 euros is available to a fee paying student who completes 60 credits or more of their study plan in an academic year, and can be claimed more than once. A new bachelor's student who accepts the offer and pays as instructed by the stated deadline gets 25 per cent off the first year.
