Admission at a glance
Western Norway University of Applied Sciences admits international students to English-taught master's programmes once a year. For 2027 programmes, online registration for citizens outside the EU/EEA opens on 1 October 2026 and the application deadline is 1 December 2026; British citizens count as non-EU/EEA applicants, and EU/EEA citizens apply by 1 March 2027. Applicants upload proof of English with IELTS Academic 6.0, TOEFL iBT 80 (or 4 on the 1 to 6 scale), PTE Academic 59 or a Cambridge B2 First result of B or better, unless an exemption applies, such as an English-taught degree completed in a Nordic country. HVL verifies test results online. Students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland pay tuition: NOK 260,000 a year for Climate Change Management and NOK 180,000 a year for Healthy Aging and Rehabilitation, while Maritime Operations and the Erasmus Mundus master's in Theatre are exempt because they are joint degrees. Other programmes follow national price categories, which for 2025/2026 ranged from NOK 130,000 to NOK 500,000 a year. HVL does not offer scholarships and cannot assist students financially.
