Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMFVBT) in Timisoara runs a dedicated "Type III" admission competition for citizens of non-EU, non-EEA and non-Swiss ("third") states who want to study on fee-paying, foreign-currency seats. Eligible applicants need a recognised high-school diploma (or equivalent) that meets Romania's minimum higher-education access requirements, regardless of graduation year, and must not be under any restrictive measures by Romanian, European or international authorities. Candidates choose a programme taught in Romanian, English or French: for the international, English-line audience this means Medicine (English), Dental Medicine (English), and Pharmacy in either English or French.

Admission runs through the university's own online platform in two annual sessions, July and September, each built around the same steps: online registration and document upload, verification of the file by university staff, a compulsory online language test in the programme's language of instruction (unless the candidate is exempted by prior schooling, an International/European Baccalaureate, GCE, or a listed international language certificate at CEFR B2), ranking of candidates by baccalaureate average, and publication of provisional results with a short window to appeal. Admitted candidates confirm their place on the platform by paying a per-option confirmation fee, together with a 50% tuition deposit, within a set number of days. After each session's Stage I confirmation window, a Stage II follows in which rejected candidates who still scored above the Romanian passing average (5 out of 10) can confirm a place if one becomes vacant, on a rolling basis until a fixed final date; if a place opens, that candidate then has only 48 hours to pay the tuition deposit or lose it to the next candidate on the list. Non-EU candidates who are admitted still need a Letter of Acceptance from Romania's Ministry of Education and a national student (Type D) visa, obtained after paying their tuition, before they can enrol and get a residence permit in Romania.

Requirements

Bachelor (integrated Medicine, Dental Medicine, Pharmacy programmes)

• A high-school diploma or equivalent that meets Romania's minimum access requirements for higher education, regardless of the year of graduation; current-year graduates may submit an official leaving certificate with final grades in place of the diploma until it is issued.
• A passport valid for at least 6 months from the start of the academic year.
• Not being subject to restrictive measures imposed by Romanian, European or international authorities.
• Proof of CEFR B2 competence in the language of the chosen programme (Romanian, English or French), via an accepted certificate, prior schooling in that language, an International/European Baccalaureate or GCE in that language, or by passing the university's own online language test; the test is compulsory and eliminatory for anyone who does not otherwise qualify for an exemption.
• Online registration and document upload through the admission platform (admission.umft.ro) within the announced session dates; the university does not work with or recognise any registration agency, and applicants who use one gain no admission advantage.
