Babes-Bolyai University admits candidates from outside the EU through an online platform run by its Centre for International Cooperation, in a single window each year. For 2026-27 registration for bachelor's and master's programmes ran from 1 April to 31 July 2026; the 2027-28 window had not been published when this page was checked. Applicants pay a non-refundable processing fee of EUR 50 after filling in the application form, which covers two checks of the file. The university processes the application, then sends accepted files to the Ministry of Education for final evaluation, with total processing time of about 40 working days, and uploads the acceptance letter to the platform once the ministry decides. The number of seats per country is limited and assigned on a first come, first served basis, so applying early matters. After receiving the letter the student has 21 calendar days to pay the tuition fee and upload proof, and then applies for a study visa at a Romanian embassy. A candidate who pays tuition but does not enrol, for example after a visa refusal, can ask for reimbursement. English is required at CEFR B2 through a listed certificate, and students who want a Romanian-taught programme can take a preparatory year of Romanian.
