Babes-Bolyai University Admission Requirements 2027

Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, whose founding diploma dates from 1581, teaches a set of bachelor's and master's programmes fully in English. Non-EU students pay EUR 2,500 to EUR 7,000 a year for an English-taught bachelor's and EUR 2,500 to EUR 9,000 for a master's in 2026-27, and admission goes through the Romanian Ministry of Education's letter of acceptance.

English test waiver

Babes-Bolyai sets English requirements by CEFR level rather than by test score. Its list of certificates accepted from non-EU candidates for bachelor's and master's admission names IELTS at B2, C1 or C2, TOEFL iBT at B2 or C1, Cambridge B2 First and C1 Advanced, and other tests including TOEIC, Pearson, Trinity ISE and the Oxford Test of English, but publishes no minimum band or score. The university does not accept proficiency certificates issued by a school. Candidates from countries whose official language is the language of the programme are exempt; that does not include countries where English is not an official language.
