Requirements

Bachelor (integrated Medicine, Dental Medicine, Pharmacy programmes)

• A high-school diploma or equivalent that meets Romania's minimum access requirements for higher education, regardless of the year of graduation; current-year graduates may submit an official leaving certificate with final grades in place of the diploma until it is issued.
• A passport valid for at least 6 months from the start of the academic year.
• Not being subject to restrictive measures imposed by Romanian, European or international authorities.
• Proof of CEFR B2 competence in the language of the chosen programme (Romanian, English or French), via an accepted certificate, prior schooling in that language, an International/European Baccalaureate or GCE in that language, or by passing the university's own online language test; the test is compulsory and eliminatory for anyone who does not otherwise qualify for an exemption.
• Online registration and document upload through the admission platform (admission.umft.ro) within the announced session dates; the university does not work with or recognise any registration agency, and applicants who use one gain no admission advantage.
• Payment of the non-refundable file-processing fee.
• For British-system diplomas: only final (not predictive) grades are accepted, and a GCE certificate is mandatory; for documents from Israel, the final Bagrut diploma is required (a leaving certificate is not accepted).
• After admission: a Letter of Acceptance from Romania's Ministry of Education and a Type D national student visa (for non-EU citizens), full or partial tuition payment as scheduled, and presentation of legalised or apostilled original documents for enrolment.

Master

The Type III (non-EU) international admission methodology found on the university's site covers only the integrated bachelor's-level ("licenta") and combined bachelor's/master's programmes in Medicine, Dental Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing-related fields. A separate "Admission Master" section exists in the site's navigation, but no dedicated non-EU international admission procedure, deadline or fee for a standalone master's-level programme was found, so this section is left without invented figures.

Documents

The Type III (non-EU) methodology lists, among the required file items: the completed personal data/registration form; the high-school diploma or equivalent, legalised or apostilled/super-legalised in its original language plus a certified translation into Romanian, English or French where needed; the official leaving certificate for current-year graduates who do not yet hold the final diploma; high-school transcripts for all years; a birth certificate and, where applicable, a marriage certificate, both legalised with certified translation; a passport copy valid at least 6 months from the start of the academic year; a national ID or proof of permanent foreign residence; a medical certificate on the university's own approved form, in Romanian, English or French; a notarised statement resolving any name discrepancies across documents; parental or guardian consent for a minor studying in Romania; proof of the required language competence; proof of payment of the language-test fee, if applicable; and proof of payment of the non-refundable file-processing fee. Documents in a language other than Romanian, English or French require certified translation, and study documents generally need Hague Apostille or Ministry of Foreign Affairs super-legalisation depending on the issuing country; the university may ask the Ministry of Education for extra documents if a file is unclear, and can refuse a file and decline to issue a Letter of Acceptance if requirements are not met.

How to apply

1. Create an account (or reuse an existing one from a previous year) on the online admission platform at admission.umft.ro during the announced registration window.
2. Complete the registration form and upload all required documents for the Type III (non-EU) competition.
3. University staff verify the file for completeness and compliance with the methodology; incomplete files can be corrected only within the announced deadline.
4. Unless exempted, sit the university's own online language test in the chosen programme's language of instruction, on the scheduled date; failing or skipping it excludes the candidate from the competition.
5. Candidates are ranked by their baccalaureate (or equivalent) average; provisional results are published on the university's website.
6. Submit any appeal by the same-day deadline stated in the calendar; the university publishes updated lists if any averages change.
7. Stage I: if ranked as admitted (or rejected with an average above 5), confirm the place on the platform within the announced window by selecting optional/elective subjects, uploading proof of payment of the per-option confirmation fee (300 EUR), and uploading proof of the 50% tuition deposit; generate and accept the study contract.
8. Stage II: rejected candidates who scored above 5 remain eligible to confirm a place if one becomes vacant, up until the calendar's final Stage II date; once offered a vacancy, the candidate has 48 hours to pay the 50% tuition deposit or the place passes to the next candidate on the list.
9. Non-EU citizens obtain a Letter of Acceptance from Romania's Ministry of Education and apply for a Type D student visa, which requires tuition to be paid as scheduled.
10. Present original, legalised documents in person for enrolment and pay the 100 RON enrolment fee at the university cashier.

English test waiver

The university does not publish a numeric IELTS or TOEFL cut-off; it requires proof of at least CEFR B2 competence in the language of instruction, which it accepts via a table of qualifying certificates (for English: Cambridge ESOL FCE/CAE/CPE, Michigan ECCE/ECPE, IELTS, TOEFL iBT, TOEIC, Trinity College London ISE II, BEC Vantage/Higher, OET; for French: DELF, DALF, TCF) without stating the exact IELTS or TOEFL score that corresponds to B2. Candidates are exempt from the language certificate if they come from a country where the official language matches the programme's language and can prove their secondary or university studies were taught in it, if they graduated high school taught in that language regardless of nationality, or if they hold an International Baccalaureate, European Baccalaureate, IGCSE or GCE Advanced Level in that language. Everyone else who cannot show one of these must sit and pass the university's own online language test (150 EUR) before the admission competition; failing or skipping it excludes the candidate from the competition. A baccalaureate exam language grade is explicitly not accepted as proof.
