UCLouvain Admission 2027: Deadlines, Fees, Requirements

UCLouvain is a French-language university, and its application route depends on where an applicant lives. For 2026-27, students from outside the European Union who did not live in Belgium and needed a visa had to apply by 31 March 2026, while non-EU students already resident in Belgium had until 13 September 2026, and doctoral applicants have no deadline. The calendar for 2027-28 had not been published when this page was checked, so the 31 March date is the best guide to how early a visa-needing applicant must be ready. Applicants from outside the EU without Belgian student status pay a EUR 200 application fee when they confirm the online application. It is not refunded if the application is refused, whatever the outcome, and it is deducted from tuition if the applicant is admitted; specialised masters, doctoral programmes, international joint diplomas and Erasmus exchanges carry no application fee. UCLouvain asks for a good command of French for its French-taught programmes, with DELF, DALF or TCF as proof, and leaves English requirements for its English-taught programmes to each faculty, so the engineering school, for example, asks for TOEFL iBT 87 or IELTS 6. The university states plainly that it grants no scholarships to international bachelor's or master's students and points instead to ARES-CCD, Belgian development cooperation, the AUF and Erasmus Mundus.
