Admission at a glance

DTU, the Technical University of Denmark, runs one of the country's largest English taught MSc engineering portfolios and its single English taught bachelor's programme, BSc in General Engineering; most other DTU bachelor's programmes are taught in Danish. Non-EU, non-EEA and non-Swiss applicants to the BSc in General Engineering pay tuition and an application fee and must have all documentation ready by 15 March at noon, the national optagelse.dk deadline. For MSc programmes, DTU runs its own application round: non-EU/EEA/Swiss applicants apply by 15 January, ahead of EU/EEA/Swiss applicants, who apply by 1 March.

Tuition for both the BSc in General Engineering and DTU's MSc programmes is EUR 15,000 a year for non-EU/EEA/Swiss students, paid up front each semester at EUR 7,500. Non-EU/EEA/Swiss applicants also pay a EUR 100 application fee before their application is processed; citizens of the EU, EEA and Switzerland pay neither tuition nor an application fee, and neither do British citizens who can document EU residency rights held before the end of 2020. DTU runs a limited, competitive tuition fee waiver for new non-EU/EEA MSc students starting in the Autumn intake, covering the full two years for successful applicants who submit a separate personal statement requesting it. English proficiency is required at English B level, shown as an IELTS Academic score of 6.5 with at least 6.0 per section, or a TOEFL iBT score of 92 with at least 22 per section on the scale used before 21 January 2026; DTU does not grant exemptions from this minimum.
