Admission at a glance
The Medical University of Sofia admits students from outside the EU to its English-taught Medicine, Dental Medicine and Pharmacy programmes through an entrance exam in English, Biology and Chemistry, held remotely. For 2026-27 the university first accepted documents from 27 July to 31 August 2026 with the exam on 9 September, and then extended the deadline: documents are now accepted until 12:00 on 25 September 2026, and the exam will be held on 2 October 2026. Enrolment runs from 28 September to 15 October 2026, and the academic year for English-taught Medicine, Dental Medicine and Pharmacy starts on 19 October 2026. Applicants pay EUR 55 to submit documents and EUR 210 for the entrance exam, and exam fees are not refundable. The score adds three times the biology mark, three times the chemistry mark and the English mark, to a maximum of 42, and failing any one part fails the exam. Candidates are ranked on that score together with their school biology and chemistry grades. Nursing and Kinesitherapy in English have their own online tests and a 2026 application period of 27 July to 11 September. After admission, non-EU students need a Ministry of Education admission certificate and a Bulgarian long-stay D visa.
