Lingnan University Admission 2027: Deadlines, Fees, Requirements

Lingnan University is Hong Kong's dedicated liberal arts university, smaller than the other seven UGC-funded institutions and organised around a broad common curriculum before students declare a major. Its route for applicants with A-Levels, IB or an equivalent qualification, the Overseas, Mainland and Transfer Applicants Holding International Qualifications pathway, opened for applications on 8 October 2026 for the September 2027 intake; Lingnan's page did not state a separate closing date, so this record treats the deadline as not yet confirmed. English proficiency is met with an IELTS Academic overall band of 6.0, with a One Skill Retake result accepted, or by IB English or GCE/GCSE/IGCSE English at the required grade; Lingnan also lists a TOEFL option but the exact minimum could not be confirmed from an official page, with search results giving inconsistent figures of both 79 and 80. Non-local tuition for UGC-funded Bachelor's degree programmes is HK$175,000 a year for the 2026/27 academic year; self-financed programmes run lower, from roughly HK$100,000 to HK$175,000 depending on the programme. Lingnan states plainly on its admissions site that it has not authorised any third-party agent to handle undergraduate admissions on its behalf, and that applicants must complete the process themselves. A Hong Kong student visa is applied for separately through the Immigration Department once an offer is accepted.

Requirements

Bachelor

An approved secondary qualification (A-Levels, IB, or an equivalent national school-leaving certificate) meeting the prerequisites of the intended programme, plus the English proficiency evidence above.

Master

A recognised bachelor's degree meeting the entry criteria of the specific graduate programme; requirements are published separately by Lingnan's School of Graduate Studies.
