Admission at a glance

Iscte admits international students to bachelor's programmes under Portugal's International Student Statute, and to master's programmes, through online applications in several phases. Applications for 2026/2027 opened on 15 December 2025, and each phase closes at 17:00 Portuguese time on a deadline set for each programme; the 2027/2028 calendar has not been published. A non-refundable application fee of EUR 70 applies to every application round and must be paid within three days of submitting. International applicants must hold qualifications in the required subject areas and show independent command of the language of instruction at CEFR level B1 or above, unless they come from a Portuguese-speaking or English-speaking country or are Spanish speakers. Tuition depends on the programme and on whether the student is from the EU. For the bachelor's in Economics in 2026/2027, students from outside the EU pay EUR 7,000 a year for each of three years, while EU students pay EUR 697. For the master's in Political Science, students from outside the EU pay EUR 3,000 in the first year and EUR 1,600 in the second, compared with EUR 1,250 and EUR 1,150 for EU students. Admitted applicants also pay a place reservation fee to secure their place and enrol.
