Ankara University Admission 2027: Deadlines, Fees, Requirements

Ankara University's Foreign Nationals Office, part of the Student Affairs Department, handles admission and registration for international students applying to associate and undergraduate degree programmes, separately from the exam Turkish citizens sit. The main accepted route is Ankara University's own TR-YOS exam, alongside a defined list of other recognised international and national exams published on the International Student Office's valid exams page, which past cycles have listed as including SAT, the German Abitur, the International Baccalaureate and ACT among others, each carrying its own minimum score. Applicants also need a high school diploma or an equivalent certificate from their home country, certified by the appropriate official authorities, and must show proficiency in Turkish or English depending on the language of the chosen programme, through TOEFL, IELTS, TR-YOS or a TÖMER Turkish proficiency certificate. For the 2026-2027 academic year, the application window ran online from 22 May 2026 at 09:30 to 26 June 2026 at 17:00, with no application fee charged, and results plus definitive registration dates were announced afterwards; registration for admitted students was later extended to 21 August 2026. Applicants are admitted either on scholarship, through programmes such as the Türkiye Scholarships administered by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities, or by self funding their own education. International students can also join Ankara University's General Health Insurance scheme on a monthly payment basis.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree

A high school diploma or equivalent certificate from the applicant's home country, certified by the relevant official authorities. One of a published list of accepted exams, led by Ankara University's own TR-YOS, alongside others such as SAT, Abitur, International Baccalaureate and ACT with their own minimum scores set out in the university's valid exams document. Proficiency in Turkish or English depending on the programme, shown through TOEFL, IELTS, TR-YOS or a TÖMER Turkish proficiency certificate.
